Three unsolved killings now under investigation

REVIEWS of three new cases by the garda cold case team are now under way, writes Tom Brady.

Mother-of-three Irene White (43) was stabbed repeatedly in the chest and back and suffered throat injuries during a frenzied knife attack at her home at Demesne Road, Dundalk, Co Louth, on April 6, 2005.

Elderly bachelor James Mulqueen, from Ardagh, Co Limerick, was found dead in his cottage on October 22, 2009. The 92-year-old had broken bones in his upper body and a mark on his neck.

The third file concerns the death of Thomas David Lockard (34), who lived at Malone Road in Belfast. His body was found dumped about 200 metres from the Border at Dromad, Co Louth, on April 27, 1998.
