Three hurt in shooting at house where pair stabbed

A HOUSE where three people were injured in a shooting yesterday was the scene of a double stabbing just weeks ago, it has emerged.

Three people were shot at in the early hours of yesterday morning, just weeks after two men were stabbed in the same house.

A shot was fired through the downstairs window of the house in Corduff Grove, Blanchardstown, Co Dublin, at around 4.20am yesterday.

Kenneth Smith (26), Lee Byrne (28) and Chantelle Brogan were wounded by the single shot fired through a downstairs window while they were sitting on a couch in the living room.

They were injured by pellets believed to have been fired from a shotgun.

There were a number of youths in the house at the time of the attack.

Mr Smith lives alone at the former council property which he owns.

It emerged last night that in a separate incident over two weeks ago, two men were stabbed in the same house.

Neither men suffered life-threatening injuries, but it is understood one of the individuals is still recovering in hospital.

Locals said a small group of troublemakers have been causing "a lot of hassle for the decent people in the area" in recent months.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Blanchardstown garda station at 01 6667000.
