Thousands of homes without electricity as ESB report network fault

UP TO 1,500 ESB customers in Dublin are still without power following a network fault.

Initially there were around 2,600 homes and businesses in the Blanchardstown and Coolmine area of Dublin 15  affected as well as some customers in Clonsilla, a spokesperson the for the energy supplier said.

ESB crews have been working to resolve the problem and restore power to affected customers since early this evening and by 10pm 1,100 premises had their power restored.

However, a second line fault is still being worked on leaving the remaining 1,500 customers still without power.

The spokesperson said it is not possible to estimate when full power will be restored.
