Thousands face huge PRSI hike

THOUSANDS of self-employed people could be hit with a huge rise in social insurance payments.

The group, which is advising Social Protection Minister Joan Burton, wants the higher PRSI rate to fund long-term illness and disability benefits for the self-employed.
