Party-goers will be saved a quick stop in the shop on the way home this weekend as one Dublin taxi company will be dishing out free condoms.

Anyone over the age of 18 out on the town tomorrow evening will be offered a free condom.

"We've got you covered for a safe ride home!" the promotion reads.

Taxi company National Radio Cabs (NRC) are running the promotion to mark World AIDS Day on December 1.

A spokesperson for the company said they are "aiming to raise awareness of HIV and also to support those in Ireland living with HIV."

The condoms will be handed out between 7pm and 10pm on Dublin's Grafton Street.

World AIDS Day is held to show support for those living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. It was the first ever global health day and was first held in 1988.

There are an estimated 34 million living with HIV globally.

More than 35 million people have died from the virus, making it one of the most destructive pandemics in history.
