Thieves steal ambulance on emergency call

GARDAI are trying to track down two people who stole a Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance attending a 999 emergency call to a house.

The ambulance was taken from outside a house on Corduff Grove in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on Wednesday evening as the crew was attending to a young female inside.

When paramedics came out of the house they discovered the ambulance had disappeared. It is believed two people stole it. A second ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

The thieves were heard talking on the ambulance radio as gardai began an urgent search.

It was found abandoned minutes later at nearby Corduff Park. The ambulance was not damaged and it is understood the patient did not require hospital treatment.
