The Irish Times appoints new Editor

The Irish Times has appointed Kevin O’Sullivan as its new Editor. He succeeds Geraldine Kennedy.

O’Sullivan (51) has been News Editor since 2006 and had previously served as Night Editor and Food Science Correspondent.

He joined the newspaper in 1997. Previously he worked with the Connacht Tribune and the Tuam Herald.

He graduated with a science degree from UCD, in 1981, and followed that with a post-grad in journalism from DCU, in 1983.

A native of Tramore, Co Waterford, he is married with two children.
