The Gathering draws 250,000 extra tourists
IRELAND has welcomed around 250,000 additional visitors during the past year thanks to The Gathering.
The estimate came as Tourism Minister Leo Varad-kar hailed The Gathering as an "enormous success".
Last year it was forecast that The Gathering would result in a €170m boost for the economy and this target is expected to be met, if not exceeded.
A number of Ultimate Gathering events have been lined up to take place in Dublin over the Christmas period -- including this year's NYE festival, a music and parade event taking place in the city on New Year's Eve.
