It's a Sunday afternoon, and Paul Egan has travelled more than 200 miles in the hope of saving a life. He is waiting in the home of a young addict who has been led there by his mother, unaware of what's about to happen.

When the man sees Paul, an interventionist, he is in shock. His mother leaves the two of them to talk while Paul, who has been a recovering alcoholic for 28 years, explains why he has come.
