Prices in pubs, hairdressers and cafés are set to rise if strict social distancing controls remain in place, as operators struggle to cope with increased costs and reduced capacity.

An accelerated roadmap for reopening Ireland means hairdressers, beauticians, cinemas and gyms will be back in business from June 29.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced the details last night in order to give businesses more than a week to prepare.
