SKELETAL remains found by hill walkers in the Dublin Mountains may belong to a woman.
Tests are being carried out on the body discovered in the Slieve na mBan Og area yesterday.
Sources close to the investigation said that early forensic indications were that it was a female body.
The human bones were spotted in forestry near the Military Road in Tallaght by a group of hillwalkers.
The grim discovery was made at around midday on Sunday. Gardai in Tallaght are investigating.
The remains were removed to the city morgue in Marino last night, where a post-mortem examination is now expected to take place.
