A 19-year-old man died from crush injuries after machinery fell on him as he worked on his grandfather's farm.
The latest victim of farm deaths was Adrian Fitzpatrick from Ballyouskill, Co Laois.
He was working at the slurry pit on the farm in Rathangan, Co Kildare.
It is understood that an agitator, which breaks up slurry, fell off the back of a tractor on top of him.
Both the Health and Safety Authority and the gardai are investigating the death which happened at about 11.50am yesterday.
A total of 16 people have been killed on farms so far this year.
It compares with a total of 22 for last year.
