Taylor made in Britain?
BRITAIN's 'Daily Telegraph' newspaper was forced to apologise yesterday after it referred to boxer Katie Taylor as British.
The mistake comes just a week after the newspaper twice described the late author Maeve Binchy as "one of Britain's richest women" in an obituary.
In its 'London 2012' supplement yesterday, the newspaper asked: "Can anyone defeat Britain's Katie Taylor, the most technically proficient attacking boxer in the world?"
The Bray boxer beat Tajik fighter Mavzuna Chorieva yesterday, securing at least a silver medal in the Games.
'The Daily Telegraph' tweeted an apology after the remark: "We're sorry for mistakenly describing the fantastic boxer Katie Taylor as British in our London 2012 section today. She is Irish, of course."
