Taoiseach's address knocks Adams and
rugby final to touch
THE Taoiseach beat the Leinster rugby team and Gerry Adams with his televised address on the EU fiscal treaty.
An audience of 185,500 tuned in between 5.54pm and 5.57pm on Sunday evening as Enda Kenny told the nation that backing the treaty would put the country on the road to recovery.
His pre-recorded appeal attracted just under 23pc of the total audience that was watching TV at that time.
In comparison, just 153,700 rugby fans, or 19pc of viewers, watched the RaboDirect Pro 12 final on RTE Two at the same time.
Gerry Adams got a 12.6pc audience share, with an average viewership of just 64,000 for his ard fheis speech the previous evening.
