Suspect subdued with taser gun and arrested after siege in Cashel

GARDAI used a taser gun to arrest a lone raider after a siege at a pharmacy in Co Tipperary today.

The man entered the pharmacy at 10am at Ladyswell, Cashel and held up four members of staff for almost two-and-a-half hours.

Gardai from Cashel, Clonmel and Thurless surrounded the shop and trained negotiators also attended the scene.

The suspect, in his early 20s was arrested at 12.20pm after gardai used a taser gun to subdue him.

He was not injured and an imitation firearm was recovered.

The staff members were released without injury.
