Suspect rearrested in hunt for gunman
A suspect was rearrested today over the shooting of a father of two who was left severely brain-damaged.
Robert Delaney, 29, was blasted in the face with a shotgun by a gunman who called at his house in October 2008.
A total of nine people have been arrested so far by officers investigating the gun attack at Russell Rise, Tallaght.
One of those was rearrested this moning.
The 20-year-old is being detained in Tallaght garda station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939. He can be held for 72 hours.
Mr Delaney, a father of two young girls aged eight and three, was shot in the head when he looked out of the front door of his home in Tallaght.
The attack was linked to a row in a pub a few weeks earlier.
He remains in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.
His family, including parents Terry and Noleen and his daughter Sinead, have been campaigning to have those behind the attack brought to justice.
