Suspect arrested over Navan strangling

A 36-year-old has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Polish woman in Co Meath last weekend.

The body of Aleksandra Sarzynska was found in her apartment at Bective House in Beaufort Place, Navan, last Friday evening. It's understood the 31-year-old had been strangled.

Ms Sarzynska, who was only days away from becoming an Irish citizen, had two young sons, aged three years and seven months.

Gardai have arrested a suspect today after he was discharged from hospital.

He is currently detained at Navan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
