Surf the internet on city buses
DUBLIN commuters will enjoy free wi-fi on services when 80 new buses are rolled out by the end of the year.
The new vehicles will be used on seven routes -- the 1, 4, 7, 29a, 33, 102, 104 and 151 -- but Dublin Bus is also looking at rolling-out free internet access on its entire fleet of 920, subject to funding being available.
The introduction of the new buses, which cost €26m, also means that 100pc of the fleet will be wheelchair accessible.
Dublin Bus chief executive Paddy Doherty said passenger numbers were "stabilising," and that a redesign of the network had helped entice people back.
