Superquinn to hire 60 more staff
SUPERMARKET chain Superquinn has announced 60 new jobs after laying off 12pc of its workforce last year in a cost-cutting drive, writes Edel O'Connell.
The company -- which slashed 400 jobs over the last 12 months -- now plans to start expanding its workforce.
Despite the economic crisis Superquinn chairman Simon Burke sounded a note of optimism for the future as the chain opened a new store in the Heuston South Quarter in Dublin yesterday.
"We hope the worst is now over," he said.
Mr Burke revealed the company received hundreds of applications for the 60 new jobs.
