Sun and showers for weekend but temperatures to drop next week

ENJOY the sunshine while you can today – the weekend is not looking as good.

Met Eireann said that today’s temperatures, soaring in the twenties, will be replaced by wintery weather again tomorrow.

The outlook is poor for outdoor pursuits with persistent and heavy rain.

The best chance of sunshine is in the west on Saturday, but scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will affect many places. The good news is that there will also be extended dry periods during the day.

A good deal of cloud is on the horizon for Sunday, but sunny spells will break through. Monday is likely to be dry with sunny spells and after that it’s back to unsettled conditions.

Next week is looking cool and wet again.
