IT was a thoroughly fashionable Friday as the first charity lunch of the season kicked off, with 350 guests attending the seriously stylish ISPCC lunch at the Four Seasons.

Style with a purpose, the ladies-who-lunch were out in force to raise cash for the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children fundraiser, now in its 11th year and there was a strong fashion appreciation running through the day.

Designer dressers, killer heels, must-have handbags, they were all there in abundance on the back of the smartly turned-out guests who were treated to an exclusive showcase of the new Autumn-Winter 2013 international collections from the Brown Thomas Designer Rooms.

Sportsmen's wives were dotted around the tables. Robbie Keane's wife Claudine is home from LA for two weeks and she attended with her mother.

Claudine wore an Isabel Marant red dress but "fessed up" to having her jeans in a bag at the hotel concierge desk for a quick dash later in the evening to see the Ireland v Sweden match being played down the road in the AVIVA.

Laura Whitmore and actress Saoirse Ronan made a special dash home for the lunch. Saoirse wore a cute, very youthful Topshop dress with long and short 'shirt ends', an affordable buy at €76.

MTV presenter and Irish Independent columnist, Laura Whitmore didn't look like she had been up since 3am to catch a dawn flight as she posed for photos mid morning. She waived her fee for MC-ing the ISPCC event.

Laura posed for photographs in a €680 Ostwald Helgason dress but later changed into a Stella McCartney number.

The early start meant Laura missed out on a One Direction party in London on Thursday night but she was happy to make the trip home and brought her mum to the lunch.
