Stormy conditions in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry

Aishling Phelan

This video captures the stormy conditions in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry.

Taken by resident Pearse Beasley, he had to film it from a window because of the dangerous conditions in the area.

Roof slates flying and bins rolling down the road made it impossible for him to leave his home to video the storm.

Kerry is one of the main counties being battered by winds that have come within two knots of being officially declared a hurricane.

The video shows trees shaking ferociously and illustrates the noisy blustery winds.

Winds gusting close to 150kph has brought sleet and torrential rainfall to the south west as part of an Atlantic super-storm.

Almost 100,000 customers are now without electricity across the country as hurricane force wind and storms across the country have still yet to reach their peak.
