Could you be the next 'Keeper of the Blarney Stone'?

Blarney Castle and Gardens is looking for someone to hold people as they kiss the Blarney Stone.

Local man Denis Cronin is set to retire from the role after 13 years of holding thousands of visitors as they kiss the legendary stone.

Legends have it that it may have been a stone brought back to Ireland from the Crusades.

It is said that those who kiss it will gain the gift of eloquence, or the 'gift of the gab'.

The keeper is also responsible for opening and closing the castle each day, usually working a 9am-5pm each day.

Last year Blarney Castle had 420,000 visitors so whoever gets the job will certainly be kept busy.

Mr Cronin's successor should be friendly, chatty and well able to cope with the ever-changing weather (it's mainly an outdoor job). Strong arms are probably a must.

Applicants can email their CVs to socialmedia@blarneycastle.ie by November 24.
