Sun cream and swimming togs at the ready.

Temperatures are to soar to 25 degrees over the June Bank Holiday weekend as the good weather continues.

As Ireland sizzles in temperatures on a par with Ibiza and Majorca, sun-worshippers have been warned burns can occur with just over 10 minutes' exposure.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) urged people to enjoy the sun responsibly by using protective lotions, wearing hats and monitoring children. The Irish Coastguard also warned bathers to take extreme care when swimming in the sea, rivers and lakes.
