Stab victim who lost spleen suffers relapse
A TEENAGER who lost his spleen after he was stabbed in an unprovoked attack has been readmitted to hospital with a suspected infection, writes Caroline Crawford.
Henry Newham (16), from Westport, Co Mayo, was released from hospital on Tuesday.
But he was rushed back on Thursday night by parents Ian and Calli with a dangerously high temperature.
Henry, a Rice College student, is in intensive care.
"He was happy to be home . . . but unfortunately he's back in (hospital) now," his sister Lauren (20) said.
Henry was in hospital for 10 days after he was attacked on the night of March 16.
"He was in the wrong place at the wrong time," added Lauren.
