Stab victim left fighting for his life
A YOUNG man was fighting for his life last night after being discovered unconscious on a roadway in a pool of blood with a deep stab wound to his chest, writes Ralph Riegel.
The 30-year old is believed to have been stabbed in a nearby property in Fairhill on Cork's northside when a row escalated into violence. He then staggered out on to the roadway before collapsing. He was in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital last night.
The man was found at 2.30pm on the Kerryhall Road in Fairhill by a pedestrian. Three people, two men and a woman, are helping gardai with their inquiries. All three were in a house where the man had been socialising in the hours before the stabbing.
Gardai have appealed to anyone with information to contact Gurranabraher gardai on (021) 4946200 or their nearest garda station.
