WITh temperatures topping 24C, it was a great day for making a splash.
Much of the east coast basked in sunshine yesterday but the rest of the country wasn't so lucky.
And the rain that hit the rest of the country spread everywhere overnight.
It will be a damp and cloudy start in the south and east today, but by midday it will become clear with sunny spells, according to Met Eireann's Klara Finkele. Temperatures will drop to between 16 and 20C.
Meanwhile, the Irish Water Safety Association (IWSA) has urged people to take care over the bank holiday weekend.
The IWSA said people should never swim alone, in the dark or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
