Visitors to Trinity College Dublin can experience the wonders of the final frontier after a travelling space exhibition crash landed in the Front Square of the historic institution.

The giant dome will host interactive workshops to explain the European space programme.

Irish scientists will deliver 10-minute 'soapbox talks' on a variety of science-related topics, while standing on a giant crate.

Junior space explorers can indulge their curiosity in the cosmos with activities like Make Your Own Comet.

Exhibits explain how the stars, the sun and the universe really work.

The dome is open to the public with free admission for the week-long event until June 9.
