THE infant son of a rally driver who was killed last weekend has been christened at his father's funeral.

Paul Mulcahy (37), of Dun Daingean, Ballyknock, Dungarvan, Co Waterford, was killed after his car crashed during the Raven's Rally last weekend.

Mr Mulcahy, pictured, and his wife Fiona had become parents to a son, also Paul, just eight weeks before his death.

At Fiona's request, baby Paul was baptised at his father's funeral yesterday. The fatal crash occurred between Kill and Carroll's Cross, west of Waterford city.

Mr Mulcahy's car hit a wall and he was killed, while his co-driver, Kevin Power, was treated in hospital for his injuries.

The son of Tony and Breda Mulcahy, the rally driver reposed at his home on Wednesday evening and was buried in the adjoining cemetery of Kilgobnet Church following requiem mass at noon yesterday. He is also survived by his sister.
