Soldiers stay with UN

Eight Irish army officers are to remain as United Nations observers on the Golan Heights, despite clashes there between Syrian troops and rebel fighters. The Defence Forces said there were no plans to withdiraw the eight officers from the area.

Austria has decided to pull out its 380 troops from the area because the danger to its forces had "risen to an unacceptable level". Two UN observers were yesterday wounded by shrapnel landing near their base in the buffer zone.

AN Irish Independent article on April 29, 2013 headlined 'Rector who had an affair turns down post of bishop' made reference to Ms Tracey McRoberts, who was described as a married woman.

We are happy to clarify that Ms McRoberts was in fact divorced and apologise for any embarrassment caused.
