Casually dressed TDs will have to clean up their act in the Dail -- or face suspension.
Independent TD Mick Wallace's pink t-shirts, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan and Richard Boyd Barrett's long shirts outside their trousers and Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams shirtsleeve addresses will all fall foul of the new Dail dress code.
Last night, the Dail's internal disciplinary watchdog approved the clampdown on scruffy members with new set of fashion rules for TDs in the chamber.
TDs will have to be dressed in business attire, wearing a suit or jacket and trousers with a long sleeve shirt.
But TDs won't have to wear a tie. Female TDs will also be subject to the business attire dress code.
