Small earthquake tremor recorded off coast of Ireland
A small earthquake tremor has been felt off the south east coast of Ireland.
Residents in Co Wexford reported feeling a slight shaking of the ground just after 8.45pm last night.
Alan O'Reilly, who operates the Carlow Weather website offering forecasts in the south-east, told how he was contacted by a colleague based just outside Wexford town who reported the small tremor to him.
Mr O'Reilly said he detected a "very small blip" on a sensor recording off the west coast of Wales in Pembrokeshire. The British Geological Survey Seismogram showed a very small tremor.
"It appears to be fairly weak," said Mr O'Reilly.
A sensor in Met Eireann's Valentia weather station, which is not manned at night, records details of any tremors recorded around Irish coast.
