Six men arrested in police drug search operation
SIX men have been arrested in a police operation focused on drug dealing in counties Armagh and Tyrone.
Ten homes were searched today in Dungannon, Cookstown and Portadown.
Police say they are seeking other individuals.
PSNI chief inspector Jane Humphries, area commander, said the searches followed community concerns around drug-dealing activity in Dungannon and were the result of six months of investigation.
"This is a proactive intelligence-led operation focusing on people we suspect are supplying Class A drugs, including heroin and cocaine," she said.
During the searches two cars were seized.
The senior officer added: "These searches were welcomed by the local community, and I wish to reassure them that police will act upon their concerns and issues and do what is necessary to bring anyone who sells drugs within our communities before the court."
