You either love him or you hate him, but Irishman Cathal O’Looney was still determined to get a snap with controversial mayor Rob Ford.

O’Looney from Kilfenora, Co Clare is celebrating St Patrick’s Day in Toronto and battled his way through the throngs of parade-goers to get a photo with Ford.

Ford, who made an unexpected appearance at the city’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade, had a line of people awaiting a photo with him... more for his outfit than anything else.

The mayor dressed up in an oversized green bow-tie and a collection of emerald-green plastic shamrocks and necklaces.

He was greeted with a mixture of boos and cheers as he passed by in the parade.
