Shooting may be linked to other attacks on locals
GARDAI are investigating if a shooting on the northside of Dublin is linked to previous incidents in the area.
A gunman jumped out of a car and shot 25-year-old Paul Norton in the lower leg near his home at the Cromcastle Court estate in Coolock around 10pm on Sunday night.
Mr Norton had been walking through the estate with his younger brother Eric when he was attacked.
The gunman fled in a white Volkswagen Golf car as his victim lay bleeding on the ground.
Mr Norton was taken to Beaumont Hospital but was discharged yesterday after treatment.
One resident in the Cromcastle Court estate said yesterday that although he did not hear the gun being fired on Sunday night he was not surprised to wake up and hear that there had been another shooting in the area.
"Something like that happens here regularly," he added.
