Shay's new song a winner with stars
IRELAND's stars came out in force to congratulate Shay Healy on his new song When You Become Stardust Too.
Colm Wilkinson, Paul Brady, Mundy, Glen Hansard, Dave Brown and You Raise Me Up writer Brendan Graham have all been in touch to say how much they like the song, which Shay performed on The Saturday Night Show with Brendan O'Connor, two weeks ago.
"I love being on with Brendan," said Shay. "He seems to share a wavelength with me and he gets into my head with great ease. We always have good fun."
When You Become Stardust Too can be downloaded on iTunes.
TELLING THE STORY OF STATES OF FEAR
THIS year is the 15th anniversary of States of Fear, the series of documentaries produced by the late Mary Raftery and broadcast on RTE Television in 1999. The documentaries are credited with bringing to light the suffering of children in Church and State-run institutions in Ireland.
To mark this anniversary, the Mary Raftery Journalism Fund is organising a series of screenings and panel discussions during May in the IFI.
With a theme of 'How Will You Tell My Story?', broadcasters, programme participants, writers, journalists and historians, amongst others will be participating in screenings and a seminar on Saturday, May 24.
There will also be an opportunity for people to see a range of investigative documentaries and learn about the process behind the making of the documentary from the filmmakers themselves throughout May.
For further information about additional screenings and the seminar on Saturday, May 24, see www.ifi.ie/statesoffear.
