Sinn Fein is dismissing the results of a new opinion poll showing a significant swing in favour of the Lisbon Treaty.
Fifty-one percent of respondents to the latest tns/mrbi survey for the Irish Times say they would support the treaty if given certain guarantees by Brussels.
These guarantees include a permanent Irish-nominated EU commissioner, as well as assurances on neutrality, abortion and tax.
Sinn Fein's Padriag McLochlainn, however, says the poll is only a snapshot in time and people's views could still change before a second Lisbon Treaty referendum is held.
