Severe M50 traffic delays due to multiple collisions and falling snow
Wintery weather and slippery road conditions have left many M50 commuters in tailbacks on their way to work this morning.
A multi-vehicle collision has been reported southbound at junction 6 at Blanchardstown, according to AA roadwatch.
Gardai have said that traffic remains slow on lane three southbound on the M50 as a result of the incident, with the traffic queue starting from junction 3 at the M1.
The right lane at Junction 6 at Blanchardstown has been closed due to spilled fuel on the road.
Meanwhile, snow is falling in many regions across the country, including around the Lucan and the Red Cow Interchange areas.
AA roadwatch have told motorists to take extreme care on the roads which have become extremely slippery due to the wintery weather.
Some areas of the country have experience heavy snow overnight in the midlands, Tipperary and Mayo.
The M7 Dublin/Limerick road is extremely slippery between J23 Moneygall and J27 Birdhill following a night of snow.
Today, a weather warning remains in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan and certain other areas in Munster and Leinster.
In those areas, southwest winds with reach between 45 to 55km/h.
The yellow warning advises people to be aware of adverse weather conditions.
