SEARCHES have continued today for a young Galway student who has been missing since Thursday.
Up to 90 people joined the search for Michael Bugler (20) in Galway today, including family and friends who travelled from Clare.
The garda sub aqua unit and coastguard search teams are also on standby as the search continued and members of the civil defence also took part.
The law student was last seen at around 1am on Friday morning after he left the Quay's Bar in the city.
The last sighting of Mr Bugler was at Claddagh Church.
"CCTV footage tracks him as far as passing the Claddagh Church at 00.58am as he appears to be on his way home to Fairhill Road," said his sister Laura.
She thanked everyone who had taken part in the search and urged others to circulate her brother's photo on social media.
"Hi everyone, thank you all so much for your turn out today you have all been working so hard to try and bring Michael home to us," she said.
Search parties began again from Calasanctius College Oranmore at 10am this morning.
Gardai have also appealed for the public's assistance in tracing the third level law student. They asked people in The Claddagh to check their properties to ensure the student was not trapped somewhere.
The missing man is described as being 5’9” in height, of thin build with short brown hair and blue eyes.
When last seen he was wearing a blue sweatshirt and jeans.
