Scuffles break out at gathering of pro-Israel and pro-Palestine groups in Dublin
A GARDA with the force's Public Order Unit keeps a close eye on a tense gathering of Pro-Israel and Pro-Palestine groups who held separate rallies outside the GPO on Dublin's O'Connell Street.
Supporters carried Israeli flags and white-and-blue balloons in a show of solidarity with Israel's right to exist as the only Jewish state in the world.
Scuffles broke out between the two sides and two men in their mid-30s were arrested at around 3pm yesterday and taken to Store Street garda station where they were held on public order offences.
The demonstration follows eight days of violence in the Middle East in which at least 158 people died in Gaza and six in Israel.
