Schoolgirl forced into car makes brave escape reporters

Gardaí in Bray, Co. Wicklow, are investigating an attempt to abduct a young girl this morning.

The incident occurred on the Boghall Road, on the outskirts of the town, at 8.30am.

The girl – aged 10 - was on her way to school at the time.

It is understood that she was approached by a man, who was driving a white car, and was forced into the vehicle.

The brave girl managed to escape shortly afterwards and then raised the alarm.

A Garda spokesman said a "suspicious approach" was being investigated.
