EDUCATION Minister Ruairi Quinn (pictured) believes school transport will remain unaffected for the rest of the week despite the Bus Eireann dispute, writes Eoghan MacConnell.
Speaking at an event in Tullamore, Co Offaly, yesterday, Mr Quinn said: "The school transport arrangements worked fine today and we have no reason to believe that there will be any disruption for the remainder of the week. I would hope, from the point of view of everybody that talks will commence and that there will be some kind of light at the end of the tunnel by the end of this week."
Mr Quinn said the Labour Court recommendations had upheld economic analysis from Bus Eireann management. "They have to get their cost base down," he said.
