Savita's husband to receive probe report on Friday
A DRAFT report of the review team investigating the circumstances of the death of Savita Halappanavar is expected to be handed personally to her husband, Praveen, on Friday.
The report, compiled by the seven-member team at the University of London, was still being finalised yesterday. It was tasked with examining any shortcomings that may have arisen in the care of Mrs Halappanavar.
Mrs Halappanavar was 17 weeks pregnant when she went to the Galway University Hospital on October 21. It was discovered she was miscarrying. Her husband has maintained that she repeatedly requested a termination. But, he claimed, this was refused because the foetal heartbeat was still present. Mrs Halappanavar died from septicaemia on October 28.
