Rugby hero O'Connell to tie knot next year
RUGBY hero Paul O'Connell has finally met his match, writes Barry Duggan.
The 32-year-old got engaged to his long-term partner, Emily O'Leary, this week.
The Limerick couple announced the news to their families after he proposed on Monday.
It is understood the Munster captain popped the question during a trip to the scenic Curraghchase forest park in west Limerick.
The couple already have a two-year-old son named Paddy.
The pair met in 2000 when O'Connell was an emerging talent with Young Munsters' rugby club.
It is understood that no date has been set for the wedding, but the ceremony and celebrations are tentatively planned for next summer -- possibly after the Irish and British Lions' tour to Australia, should O'Connell form part of the travelling squad.
