RTÉ stars ready to bloom at festival
Some of RTÉ's biggest names will be ditching the leafy environs of Montrose and planting themselves in Phoenix Park next month for Bloom 2017.
Kicking off on June 1 and running for five days over the bank holiday weekend until June 5, the flower, food and family festival is now in its 11th year and has steadily sprouted in popularity.
Marty Whelan will kick off RTÉ's live coverage of the event with his Lyric FM show, ahead of Áine Lawlor and Marty Morrissey presenting three live half-hour shows on RTÉ One on June 1.
The pair will be taking a look at some of the 22 stunning show gardens while also revealing the winner of this year's Super Garden.
Olympic rowing silver-medallists Gary and Paul O'Donovan will make their debut at the event with a live interview by Jacqui Hurley.
On RTÉ Radio 1, Joe Duffy will front a Liveline Funny Friday special while Miriam O'Callaghan will present her show there on the Sunday.
RTÉ director general Dee Forbes said the annual event was an opportunity "to meet our audience" and showcase services.
Live music will come from the RTÉ Lyric FM Quartet over the five days.
