Independent.ie readers have had their say on the debate which begins to rage around this time every year - just when is the right time to put up your Christmas tree.
It seems that Independent.ie readers largely opt for the more traditional time-lne of waiting until December to put up their tree, with just 10pc of votes being cast in favour of putting up a tree in November.
The majority of readers believe the dates between December 1 and 10 is the ideal time for homes to be decorated.
A quarter of people who responded believe that mid-December is time enough, while 7pc of readers think Christmas week is the optimal time to erect a tree.
A small fraction of people, 1pc, opt for erecting a tree on Christmas Eve.
However it seems that readers have already encountered some preemptive festive cheer with almost half (46pc) of readers who responded to our poll confirming that they have seen trees in homes already this year.
