Dublin shops have been found to be the luckiest in the country for National Lottery winnings, new figures have shown.

Five out of the ten stores featured in Ireland’s luckiest National Lottery retailers are all based in Co. Dublin, with the G.P.O in Dublin ranking with 14 jackpot and top prize winning tickets being sold there.

Stores in Donegal, Cork and Waterford also feature in the list, with O’Neills, Bridgend, Co. Donegal ranking second after selling 12 top prize tickets.

Pearse O’Neill, owner of the lucky Donegal newsagents spoke about the winnings.

“We are all very proud of the fact that we are one of the luckiest National Lottery shops in Ireland,” O’Neill said.

“We have people come into the shop from all over the country in the hope that they are our next big winners.

“We haven’t had a jackpot win for a while so we’re definitely due another big one very soon to cement our place on top of the list.”

Hickey’s of Skibbereen, Co. Cork, McKenna’s Texaco, Muff, Co. Donegal and SuperValu Finglas, Dublin 11 all feature in the top 5 luckiest stores.

The list was compiled by the National Lottery using claims data from the last 30 years.

Lottery players will have another chance to win €2 million in tomorrow’s National Lottery draw, or become Ireland’s biggest Euromillions winner by winning tonight’s €150 million jackpot.
