Report into Savita death out next week
The report of an independent review group into the death of Savita Halappanavar could be published next week.
The review group was set up by the HSE and is chaired by UK obstetrician Prof Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, who conducted a clinical inquiry into her death.
A draft report was produced and a final version is being drawn up, taking into account some of the evidence given at the inquest into Savita's death.
Savita (31) died at University Hospital Galway on October 28, a week after she was admitted and told she would miscarry her baby. She was 17 weeks pregnant.
She died of septicaemia and had developed septic shock after a virulent form of E-coli infection caught hold and she suffered organ failure.
