Renters pay 15pc more to live near Luas, Dart stops
Dublin renters are paying 15pc more to live near a Luas or Dart stop, new research has found.
Rent costs on the Luas Green Line average €2,383, while living on the Red Line sees average rents of €2,189 a month.
New Daft.ie research shows that living near a Luas stop can see renters paying an average of more than €320 per month.
Lansdowne Road is the most expensive stop, with average rents to live near the Dart stop which serves the Aviva Stadium reaching €2,886.

Spencer Dock is the most expensive stop on the Luas, with average monthly rents costing €2,881.
The Sandymount Dart stop follows closely behind, with commuters shelling out €2,851 on average.
"When it comes to rail, density is important, as rail has large upfront costs and greater population density spreads those costs among more users," said economist Ronan Lyons. "This is important to bear in mind when planning where to build both transport and homes over the coming years."
Mr Lyons added that this density should be taken into consideration.
"If Ireland wants to make its transport systems more sustainable, it should consider how to facilitate density," he said.
Prices of rents of three-bedroom semi-detached houses and two-bedroom apartments within the greater Dublin area within 1km of each rail stop were analysed by researchers between October 2018 and September 2019.
The most expensive stop on the Luas Green Line is the Charlemont stop, with average rents of €2,708. Commuters are paying €2,642 on average for the O'Connell Street and Parnell stops.
The highest average rents on the Luas Red Line are at Spencer Dock.
The cheapest rent is €1,803 per month on average near the Fortunestown Luas stop.
