Recovered shotguns part of bigger haul
THREE shotguns recovered by gardai during a raid on a house were part of a haul of 29 guns stolen from a licensed dealer's premises in Co Wicklow in September.
Last night, gardai were questioning a 27-year-old Dublin man about the weapons.
He was detained when officers from Coolock drugs unit, backed up by personnel from the Dublin northern region, swooped on a house at Tulip Court in Darndale on Thursday evening.
He was taken to Coolock station and can be held without charge for up to three days.
The suspect is well known to gardai. He was targeted under Operation Acer, the Dublin offshoot of Operation Fiacla, which was set up nationwide a year ago to crack down on gangs involved in burglaries and thefts around the country.
